This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial underwriter who has deep market contacts and a demonstrable ability to generate and develop new business, while maintaining disciplined risk selection and profitable underwriting performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead underwriting efforts for targeted classes of business, with responsibility for building and managing a profitable portfolio.
• Develop new business opportunities through existing contacts and proactive market engagement.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with brokers, clients, and partners.
• Partner with senior leadership to define underwriting strategy, product offerings, and risk appetite.
• Assess and price risks effectively while maintaining strong governance and underwriting discipline.
• Mentor and develop junior underwriting talent as the business expands.
• Represent the company at industry events, panels, and broker meetings.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.

Who You Are:

• Highly experienced underwriter with 10+ years in a relevant underwriting discipline (e.g., specialty lines, wholesale, commercial, or financial lines).
• Track record of building and growing a portfolio of business with tangible results.
• Established broker and client network that can be leveraged to generate profitable new business.
• Commercially astute with strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities.
• Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and desire to contribute to building a business.
• Excellent communicator with leadership presence and the ability to influence at all levels.
• Team-oriented yet self-driven, able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
