Portfolio Manager / Investment Analyst (Family Office)
Title: Portfolio Manager / Investment Analyst (Founder Office)
Location: Regent Street, London (office-based with some flexibility)
Reporting to: Founder
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Competitive + bonus (dependent on experience)

Role purpose:
To support the Founder across the full investment lifecycle and ongoing portfolio oversight, acting as a core member of a newly formed Family Office. This is an execution-led role requiring strong investment judgement, analytical capability and comfort working across public and private markets, as well as debt/credit structures. The role also includes a “Personal CFO” component covering personal financial oversight and balance sheet management.

Key responsibilities:

1) Investment analysis & decision support
  • Build clear investment cases for new opportunities (pros/cons, risks, key questions, thesis)
  • Evaluate public equities and funds: fundamentals, catalysts, positioning, risk management
  • Support private investment screening: sector, team, traction, moat, valuation, terms
  • Stress-test assumptions and identify diligence requirements before capital is committed
2) Private investment process & due diligence
  • Create diligence frameworks and question sets (commercial, financial, legal, operational)
  • Coordinate information requests with founders/management teams and advisors
  • Review data rooms, financials, cap tables, terms, and exit pathways
  • Track deal progress from initial review through to investment committee-style decisions
3) Allocation strategy & portfolio construction
  • Support allocation planning across public equities, private companies and credit/debt
  • Maintain portfolio dashboards: exposures, concentration, liquidity, risk profile
  • Produce monthly/quarterly reporting on performance, drivers and changes over time
  • Monitor underperformers and recommend rebalancing or de-risking actions
4) Debt markets & capital mechanics
  • Understand debt structures and financing options (secured/unsecured, covenants, pricing)
  • Support analysis around mortgages, property finance, and capital raising mechanics
  • Assist with evaluating credit opportunities and debt-funded transactions where relevant
5) Personal CFO / balance sheet oversight
  • Maintain oversight of personal income/outflows, costs, property spend and liabilities
  • Track obligations, recurring payments, debts and liquidity needs
  • Provide clear summaries for the Founder: what’s due, what’s changed, what needs attention
6) Stakeholder & advisor coordination
  • Liaise with accountants, lawyers, banks, wealth/investment providers and other advisors
  • Keep action trackers, timelines and follow-ups tight - ensure nothing drifts
  • Prepare Founder-ready briefs ahead of meetings and decisions
Required experience & skills
  • Strong track record in investment analysis / portfolio oversight (relevant buy-side/private-side exposure strongly preferred)
  • Understanding of public markets, private markets and debt markets
  • Comfortable interpreting financial statements and performance metrics
  • Able to structure thinking, challenge assumptions, and communicate recommendations clearly
  • High discretion and integrity; comfortable handling sensitive personal and financial matters
  • Organised, proactive, and able to operate with minimal structure in a lean team
Desirable
  • Family office experience
  • Exposure to PE/VC processes, term sheets, cap tables and exit analysis
  • Experience building portfolio reporting dashboards and investment memos
