Junior Aviation Underwriting AssistantLocation: London (Office-based)
The Junior Aviation Underwriting Assistant provides administrative and technical support to the underwriting team, assisting with the accurate processing, monitoring and reporting of risks. This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to develop underwriting expertise and gain exposure to the Lloyd’s and specialty insurance market. The position is fully office-based in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to underwriters in the management of risks
- Maintain and update the Risk Register and renewal lists
- Perform accurate data entry into underwriting and financial systems
- Support risk analysis under the guidance of underwriters
- Prepare monthly presentations outlining company activity
- Conduct daily checks of the MI system and “Daybook”
- Administer risk declarations to facilities
- Develop working knowledge of the accounting system (Asstra)
- Liaise with Operations to support policy closings
- Maintain the cash book in collaboration with the Finance team
- Ensure financial metrics and underwriting records are accurate and up to date
Education:
- Minimum of 3 A-levels (or equivalent)
- Commitment to studying towards the ACII qualification (or other relevant CII qualifications
Experience:
- Previous exposure to the Lloyd’s market or specialty insurance is advantageous but not essential
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with data
